Airflow 24

Description
Most mobiles spread sideways. Airflow 24 hangs as a tall, slender column, almost 18 inches high and under 10 wide, so it fits places other mobiles can't: a stairwell, a narrow hallway, the corner beside a window. Carina Caia designed it for Flensted in 2019 as a way of making air visible: a tall stack of lightweight folded foil vanes above a beech ball, turning with the slightest draft so you can watch a room's air currents the way you'd watch a stream.
It suits modern interiors, and it's a good answer to "what do I hang in a tall, empty space." Because it responds to such small movements, it's also quietly entertaining above a desk, where the air from a door opening down the hall sets it turning.
Handmade in Denmark by the Flensted family workshop, mobile makers since 1953.
